The TouchCardthe first of its kind in the world, is an accessible payment card that enables blind and visually impaired to facilitate their payments and easily distinguish their cards.
There are a few effective ways for blind or visually impaired people to quickly determine if they have a credit, debit, or prepaid card in their hands, especially since more and more cards have a flat design without a name or number. MasterCard tackles this challenge with a simple innovation and has introduced a small system on the side of the card to help consumers use the right card in the right way.

Touch Card is designed to work with POS terminals and ATMs, which allows it to be widely deployed. Credit cards have a square score, debit cards have a circular prong, and prepaid cards have a triangular prong. In addition to blind and visually impaired consumers, anyone in a low-light environment or looking at their wallet or purse with one hand can benefit from the Touch Card design.
In addition, the Ajman Bank Touch Card offers benefits tailored to meet the unique needs of each cardholder, including up to 10% cashback, which can be chosen from among four categories: fuel, online spending, groceries and tuition fees.
According to the latest available data, 15% of the world’s population suffers from some form of disability, which is the largest minority group in the world. The World Health Organization estimates that at least 2.2 billion people worldwide have vision problems. A recent study by MasterCard entitled Closing the Disability Gap: An Opportunity to Make a Positive Impact, revealed that digital inclusion is the path to financial inclusion for people with disabilities.
