BDC recently completed a strategic review that outlined new ambition for the impact the bank wants to make on Canada and entrepreneurs in the coming years along with its digital transformation agenda. As part of these changes and in the context of moving towards an agile way of working, product groups have been formed according to business areas and consist of product managers among others.

As a Digital Product Team Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and support a team of Product Managers involved in the various programs as well as the Business Analysts who support them.

Challenges ahead

  • Leads, coaches and supports a team of Product Managers involved in many initiatives related to the organization’s priority programs.
  • Develops product marketing managers methodology in order to standardize it across different products.
  • Develops team experience for their growth.
  • Build a close relationship with team members to help them achieve success and achieve their career goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders including business sectors, technologies and product managers in both Agile and Matrix mode.
  • Support the team in the transition to agile mode and increasingly to matrix mode by applying these new principles to day-to-day management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and creativity in innovation in service models.
  • Keep abreast of and learn about developments, trends and best practices in design, tools, approaches, and techniques to be able to recommend relevant and prudent improvements.
  • To ensure that product managers and business analysts can have space to develop good relationships with stakeholders (related to influencer leadership)
  • Support the implementation of a standardized methodology for business analysts in our marketing department

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, E-Business, E-Commerce, Marketing, Communication or any related field.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience as a Product Manager plus 7 years of experience in the digital field, including at least four in a team management position.
  • Knowledge of the financial sector or consulting (original).
  • Experience working in an agile delivery context.
  • Excellent skills as a Senior Product Manager and in management.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in coaching and team development.
  • Excellent understanding of the ever-changing digital marketing landscape.
  • Strong ability to support the team in agile mode and manage it in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with partners, business units and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Good time management, organization and planning skills.
  • Prioritization method (delay cost, priority matrix, MSCW, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, assertive and results-oriented individual.
  • Team spirit, customer service orientation and problem solving skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English).

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, e-business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a product management position combining 7 years of experience in the digital industry with at least 4 years in a team management role.
  • Knowledge of the financial or advisory industry (original).
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment.
  • Excellent skills as a Senior Product Manager and in management.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in coaching and team development.
  • Excellent understanding of the ever-changing digital marketing landscape.
  • Strong ability to support and manage an Agile team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with partners, business units and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
