UNA and WAM host a virtual workshop to introduce the World Media Congress

Today, Monday, August 1, 2022, the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) organized a virtual workshop for member news agencies to introduce the World Media Conference, in cooperation with the Emirates News Agency (WAM). and Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).

The workshop was attended by representatives of more than 40 official news agencies from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in addition to news agencies from countries that have observer status with the organization, according to the United Nations Union.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of AZERTAC, Aslan Aslanov, joined the virtual workshop.

The workshop sought to present this global event, which will be hosted by the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, from 15 to 17 November, under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State. The Presidential Office, with the participation of a group of media industry leaders at the regional and international levels.

In his opening speech, the Acting Director General of the Federation of News Agencies in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Muhammad Abd Rabbo al-Yami, said: The World Media Conference comes in light of the rapid development witnessed by the global media scene, whether in terms of production techniques or in terms of media consumption and news content, with Emphasizing that news agencies, more than others, need to keep pace with these developments in order to maintain their role as a reliable source of information and increase their share in the international news scene.

Al Yami pointed out that the conference represents an unprecedented opportunity for member news agencies to discover the best global experiences in the field of media and communication, and to explore the latest innovations, whether in terms of content or building media platforms.

Al-Yami expressed his hope that the workshop would be a means of linking the member news agencies to the World Media Conference and strengthening their relationship with the leaders of his organization, benefiting from them, contributing to their work, and participating. effectively in its workshops and exhibitions, in a way that benefits member agencies and educates them about the latest practices and methods.

For his part, Director-General of Emirates News Agency (WAM), Mr. Mohammed Jalal Al-Raisi, revealed in his speech delivered by Ali Yousef Al-Saad, Acting Deputy Director-General, that the international conference will bring together an elite group. A media innovator in the fields of journalism, radio, television, multimedia, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and innovation in social media content.

Al-Raisi stressed that the conference will help through dialogue sessions and interactive discussions in identifying opportunities and challenges for media institutions and institutions, finding effective solutions and innovations, and drawing future features that serve multiple media aspects, stressing that the conference will also have a pivotal role in empowering innovative companies and reinventing the concept of business in terms of Harnessing artificial intelligence techniques and journalistic algorithms in the production of diverse media content.

Al Raisi explained that the benefits of participating in the World Media Conference include regional media companies, so the participant will be able to build and develop a digital business model using technologies and applications with major companies in the region, as well as multinational media organizations. By entering into qualitative strategic agreements and partnerships with these institutions with a wide global reach.

During the workshop, Director of Capital Events Management, Nathan Wu, gave a presentation on the World Media Conference, and what it enables participating parties to access in the Gulf and Middle East markets.
